Total Security is scamware which installs itself on your computer and 'pretends' to find a variety of viruses and problems. This software causes all sorts of problems for your PC, and it has no way to uninstall it from your PC. Luckily, there's a simple method which even a beginner can do to remove it completely from your PC.

To remove any program from your PC, you just need to delete its program files and then any links it has with Windows. Traditional uninstallers do this automatically for you, but often leave many files lurking on your system, and generally don't do a very good job. Total Security doesn't have this feature and instead, you will need to use the same method as a computer technician and remove the software manually.

Uninstalling Total Security is a two step task. The first thing you need to do is remove all of the 'program files' the program has. This will prevent it from working, making it unable to steal anything from you or ruin your PC. To do this, you just need to click on My Computer and then browse to c:\Program Files\TSC and delete the entire TSC folder, by pressing SHIFT + DELETE (permanently deletes the files instead of sending to recycle bin). This will totally remove the program from your PC, preventing it from working again.

The next thing you need to do is to remove all the "links" that Total Security has with Windows. These links are in the form of 'registry keys' and are stored in a big database called the 'registry'. These keys / links tell Windows about the program and how to run it. To remove these links, you need to first search for REGEDIT.EXE on your computer and open it up. This will open the registry, where you then need to click CRTL + F, and search for all the keys that have "Total Security" in the title. This will allow you to remove any keys which tell Windows to open or use Total Security, effectively cutting it out of your system.

Doing these two steps will completely remove any trace of Total Security from your PC. However, it's a very risky method and manually deleting registry files can cause major problems down the line. To uninstall Total Security safely, you should try and use a program which does the above method automatically. You should use an uninstaller program to totally remove Total Security from your PC safely.
