How to Fix Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper Has Stopped Working

When you want to reset your computer modifications to the factory default or remove trail versions but face the problem of "Bootstrapper has stopped working" or "Error 40" then here are the possible solutions to fix it.

If "Data Execution Prevention" (DEP) is turned on for all program and services with Windows Vista or Windows 2003, that might be the cause of the problem. If you check your DEP settings to make it turned on for the selected programs and services, that might help you to resolve this problem.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

In order to change the settings for DEP, you have to follow the following steps. Go to the control panel and click on the system icon. In the left pane click Advance system settings. You will get a popup window, prompting to verify that you want to continue, click on yes. Go to 'settings'.

Check if the box is selected for "turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select", then you need to change the setting to "turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services". If that does not work then go to the same properties again and add "autorun.exe" to the exception list. To add "autorun.exe" to the list, you have to click add button at the bottom of the screen. You will find an Open dialogue where you have to navigate to the folder that has "autosun.exe" and select the program.

Once you have either selected the different box for DEP or added "autorun.exe" to the list click OK button. You will have to restart Windows to let the changes takes effect. These steps should allow the installation to run the boot system software. After doing these steps and installation is complete, don't forget to remove the "autorun.exe" from the list, added to the list above, as it creates a security hazard.

Microsoft CRM Data Import FAQ

Microsoft CRM has built-in conversion tool, however you should probably first try third party conversion tool, such as Scribe. It is relatively expensive and has bunch of importing capabilities, that you might never use and need. Scribe allows you to map objects in source and target, when source is ACT! for example. If you are just realized the need to load data into CRM - please research Microsoft CRM import tool and Scribe. Here we will describe other option and possibilities

o Master records import - you can import via MS CRM integration tool. Tools->Import and select contacts or leads

MICROSOFT SECURITY

o Duplication dilemma. In version 1.2 as well as in 3.0 (as far as we know) you do not have duplication check and you can import duplicate leads or contacts.

o MS CRM SDK custom data migration. If data import is critical and you have reasonable budget for the migration - you can appeal to MS CRM customization partner who specializes in the complex data import. In MS CRM SDK you can program duplication check, special rules for security settings. We have to stress here, that this is not one thousand dollars project and if you are small company, you should stick to Scribe or native MS CRM import tool

o Large Scale MS CRM implementation. For corporate business security might have top priority and migration should be programmed in MS CRM SDK.

o Some technical tips. Post-call-outs. In MS CRM 3.0 which should be released in earlier 2006 there are so-called pre-call outs (in version 1.2 we have only post-call-outs). Pre-call-out should allow to check for duplication, based on your duplication recognition criteria and cancel record if it is duplicate contact, account or lead

If you have a need in large scale data import, you can always have us help you with MS CRM SDK data conversion. Give us a call: 866.528.0577 or 1.630.961.598, help@albaspectrum.com

Learn When to Use the Ask Field Over the Fill-in Field in Microsoft Word 2003

The Ask and Fill-in fields are two of the most useful fields that you can use in the Microsoft Word arsenal however these fields are also two of the most misunderstood fields as well. These two fields will help you in developing templates that your team can use, which will prompt them to enter data into a Microsoft Word template based on preset questions you have chosen to use. However, be warned that the two fields play a very different role and choosing the right field can save a lot of pain in the future.

Both field types are designed to ask you a question in a template when you create a new document or if you activate the field. For example, if you were in a sales team, you may know that a certain type of letter will achieve the best results. Rather than your staff creating their own sales letter, you can setup your sales letter as a template that asks the team member when using your letter to enter a name and address. To achieve this you could simply insert the Ask and Fill-in fields.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

You can insert each of these fields into your template by simply visiting the Insert menu and then choosing Field from the drop down menu. The next step is to then choose the category you require, which in our case is the Mail Merge category and then simply choose the field you require and press the OK button.

The question now begs which field do I use. Well here is the simple answer. Both fields ask you a question; however the Fill-in field automatically inserts the answer you type into the field where as the Ask field actually stores the answer in a bookmark. The advantage of using the Ask field is that you can have the user enter the information once into a template, like say for instance, a persons name and then use the REF command through out the template to access the information entered.

The key advantage of using the Ask command over the Fill-in command is that you only ask the question once and then reuse the information as many times as you require through the document. This is a huge time saver and makes the Ask field a very valuable tool.

Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics GP Integration Manager Troubleshooting & FAQ

In this small article we would like to give guidelines to Great Plains IT support people, who is trying to troubleshoot Microsoft Dynamics GP in-house, sometimes appealing to Microsoft Business Solutions support. GP IM is using several technologies, however the most popular is Great Plains workstation as OLE server - this technology comes back to 1990th when Microsoft was parading with its OLE, OLEDB, ODBC and other technologies and is tightly linked with Microsoft Data Access Components (MS DAC). In general you may think about processes this way - when you launch traditional IM it hides Microsoft Great Plains workstation and uses it behind the scenes to validate GP business logic

o IM Known Bugs. This is when you are getting error messages, related to MDAC libraries, such as TTGErrors. You have to look for the exact remedy in Microsoft Dynamics techknowledge database, but general rule is this - try to clean up MDAC installation, uninstall IM and then install newest MDAC and reinstall IM

MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS LATEST VERSION

o IM Registration issues. Since version 7.5 Microsoft requires IM to have separate reg key. Known issue with entering reg key is if you do not install IM properly, but simply copy GP workstation folder and IM program files - in this case Windows registry has no info about IM and it "forgets" about registration. You need to reinstall IM and apply recent IM service packs accordingly

o eConnect. This should be IM future, it is in process of being rewritten in eConnect. eConnect doesn't have performance obstacles and doesn't use OLE server. With this new technology IM will be capable to import unlimited number of records in "real time"

o Old versions of IM. Some versions of Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise were released with IM, which needed immediate service pack application - otherwise it simply was not functional. If you are on GP version 7.0 - please do not install IM from CD - look for the service pack

Please feel free to call us at any time: 1-866-528-0577, 1-630-961-5918, help@albaspectrum.com , skype albaspectrum

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Fix - How To Stop Abnormal Application Termination

The "Visual C++ Runtime Error" is a big problem for millions of computers, and will generally show when you are using, or want to load, a particular software program onto your system. The error will be caused by the way in which your computer will be unable to correctly process the files / settings it requires to run various C++ programs on your system. In order to fix the problem, you first need to be able to repair any potential problems that Visual C++ has, and then any registry errors that may be on your PC.

The error you'll see from this problem will likely show in this format:

MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS LATEST VERSION

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program:.. C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYSTEM\MOSEARCH\BIN\MOSEARCH.EXE abnormal program termination"

The problem you're seeing is that your computer will have some sort of damaged / corrupted settings which are preventing it from loading the correct functions / settings it requires to run. All programs created with the "C++" language (which is nearly every program) will actually use a specific set of features & functions from the "Visual C++ Library" of your PC - an important part of every Windows system. Unfortunately, the error you're seeing will either be caused by your system not reading the visual C++ runtime library correctly, or having some sort of problem with its registry settings.

The way to resolve this error is to first ensure that you have the correct version of "Visual C++" on your PC. This can be done by downloading the newest release of the "Visual C++ Redistributable" package from the Microsoft website. This is a free program which will allow you to read all the latest files & settings that your computer will need to run various C++ programs on your PC. After you've downloaded the program, install it onto your system and then let it clean out any of the potentially damaged files that your system may have. After that, re-install any programs causing an error by clicking onto "Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs" and then removing the software that could be causing a problem. This will then allow your PC to correctly read the software, and just remains that you should fix any Windows settings errors that your system may have.

It's recommended that you use a "registry cleaner" program to scan through your PC and fix any of the potential problems / errors which Windows has inside. Registry cleaners are popular software programs which will scan through your system and get rid of any potential problems / errors that your system may have inside. They work to specifically clean out the "registry database" of your system, which is where all the files & settings your computer requires to run are kept. The registry is a very important part of Windows, but is also the cause of many different problems. To ensure that your computer is able to run correctly, it's important that you keep the registry working as smoothly as possible - which is done by downloading, installing and running a registry cleaner program.

Uninstall Microsoft Office - Learn How to Remove Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 From Your PC

Learn How to Completely Uninstall Microsoft Office & Other Hard-to-Remove Programs from Your PC Using an Uninstall Tool.

microsoft security essentials download

There is no doubt that all Windows users are familiar with Microsoft Office. It is an office suite developed by Microsoft - first released in 1989 - which is utilized in Windows and even Mac OS X operating systems. Microsoft Office is made up of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint and Access. Text and number-based documents can be saved in Word and Excel, respectively - making Microsoft Office one of the most commonly used applications suited for both personal and business use.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

So why would you want to remove such a useful program from your computer? Perhaps a program has gotten corrupted, you are receiving error messages when using one of the Office applications, or you simply have no need for the program anymore or you want to switch over to the Google equivalent of Microsoft office.

The typical solution would be to use the (Add/Remove) Programs functionality in Windows. However, there are times that using this Windows applet will give you error messages. If this is the case, what you can do is look for an alternative solution - one of which is to utilize an uninstall tool called Perfect Uninstaller.

The ABCs of Completely Uninstalling MS from Your Computer.

Aside from Microsoft Office, there are other hard-to-remove programs on your computer which can be easily uninstalled using tools like the Perfect Uninstaller. If Internet Explorer got corrupted, or if your antivirus program is not updating, this brand of uninstall tool will allow you to easily and completely uninstall the application from your system.

If you're trying to uninstall Microsoft Office, for example, what the Perfect Uninstaller tool will do is completely clean the empty or corrupted registry entries. If you received error messages during the uninstall MS process, there might be empty registry entries still left over on your computer. This would definitely not help improve the performance of your computer, so it's a must to make sure that everything will be completely removed.

During the uninstall Microsoft Office process, the Perfect Uninstaller tool will also forcibly uninstall corrupted programs, display hidden programs and uninstall them as well. More importantly, the Perfect Uninstaller tool has a user-friendly interface and it works much faster and more efficiently than the (Add/Remove) Programs applet in Windows. It can also backup the registry to restore the system easily if you have the Windows operating system installed, and you can make use of additional functionalities like the "Restore Registry" option.

As you can see, there are a multitude of benefits from using an uninstall tool like the Perfect Uninstaller, so it's the first thing that you need to consider using when trying to remove hard-to-uninstall program like Microsoft Office

Microsoft Great Plains 10.0 and 9.0 Upgrade - Technical Notes

At this time (fall of 2007) Microsoft Dynamics GP customers are actively upgrading to GP version 9.0 and initial upgrades are performed to Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0. Version 10.0 will be in more active upgrade mode, when Microsoft will release GP 10.0 Service Pack 1, as current GP 10.0 upgrade path is limited to 8.0 SP5 and 9.0 SP2. Having reasonable number of GP version updates performed, we would like to share experience. Lets' start with the most popular upgrade to 9.0.

microsoft security essentials download

1. As versions 8.0, 7.5, 6.0, and earlier are discontinued for Microsoft Dynamics technical support, you should consider this bell as strong signal to walk away from these older versions. Versions 7.5 and older were available on MS SQL Server as well as on Pervasive SQL 2000 (former Btrieve) and Ctree. In the case when you are on non-MS SQL Server DB - you will have to undergo migration step to SQL Server based version. Assuming that your case is straight forward, let's move on and review known version upgrade issues

MICROSOFT SECURITY

2. Purchase Order Processing tables problems. If you are using POP module, then you must check you Purchase Orders and Receipts work and historical tables on the subject of so-called orphan lines. These tables should be verified: POP10110, POP10310, POP30110 and POP30310 - they store purchase orders and receipts lines. Microsoft recommends doing checklinks, prior to upgrade process, however we saw situations, where potentially check links don't do all the orphans cleaning job. If check links doesn't help, please construct the script which will give you orphans in lines table, similar to the following: select a.* from POP10110 a left join POP10100 b on a.PONUMBER=b.PONUMBER where b.PONUMBER is null. And again, prior to rescuing to scripting, you should try check links approach.

3. If after check links, upgrade failed on POP tables, you will have to restore DYNAMICS and all Companies DB to initial version and try data repair with scripting. Then design delete scripts with your DBA person. Microsoft partner should be able to apply failed company rolling back script, so you do not have to start from initial version for all the databases, however this script is confidential.

4. Other potentially problem tables. We've also seen the problem with IV10200 table. In version 9.0 inventory valuation formula was revised and it now relies on IV10200 to higher extent. In some cases this table conversion script fails and upgrading application freezes. The remedy is roll back to initial version, be sure that you did check links.

Resolving the Microsoft Outlook Express Not Responding Error Message!

Microsoft Outlook Express is an email client. It's an email set up on your computer system only. It's different from Web mail on which you can check your mail messages for as long as there is an Internet connection; or checking your mail messages through a website. There are many Outlook Express users suffer from responding error messages. Well, we should think that there are different responding error messages by the said email client.

microsoft security essentials download

In order for you to manage those responding error messages, here are some tips to resolve them like a Pro.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

The most common causes of error messages are due to internet connectivity issues or account settings are configured incorrectly. You have to verify if there is an internet connection. If there is an internet connection, try to do a test mail; send an email to yourself. If you still receive an error message, verify the account settings.

Have the latest update on your Windows operating system. You should run the Windows operating system updater program. The latest update would seal security holes and also correct errors that crept during the course of programming.

Update the anti-virus on your computer. The cause of a sudden responding problem of email client is due to virus-contained emails that entered your inbox. We also recommend running a full system scan.

It has Faulty or corrupt storage folders. The email message has a virus on the corrupted files, causing Outlook Express to crash. If you delete the folder files manually, you will lose all the email stored in it so backup is recommended. You can either take a full backup of Outlook Express Email or simply select the messages you want and drag them to a temporary folder. Then manually delete the Inbox.dbx file and restart Outlook Express.

Reinstall the Outlook Express program. This is our last resort; you can try it with Internet Explorer version 6 set up file which is available from oldversion.com.

Seven Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys You Must Know When Using Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project is the number one tool to have when it comes to project management. It is the one tool that every project manager should have in their bag of tricks to ensure that their project will run on time and on budget. To be truly able to utilise Microsoft Project effectively and efficiently there are Seven Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys that all project managers should know.

microsoft security essentials download

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 1 -

MICROSOFT SECURITY

The first MS Project shortcut keys you must know is the [Enter] keystroke. You use this shortcut keystroke to accept the data entered into a cell in a task or a resource. For example if you are working in the Gantt Table and entering a new task name, before the task name is accepted you must select the [Enter] key.

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 2 -

Sometimes you will find that the value you have just entered into a cell was not correct. If you want to cancel what you have typed into a cell you simply use the MS Project shortcut key - [Esc] (the Escape key). The escape key is located in the top left hand corner of your keyboard.

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 3 -

To be able to change the cells of a task you must first activate the cell so just like in Microsoft Excel we have a shortcut keystroke that allows you to that, the shortcut is [F2]

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 4 -

Sometimes you will find that you need to insert a task whilst you are developing a new project plan. To insert a new task using just your shortcut keystrokes, press the [Ins] key. This key may also be shown as the [Insert] Key.

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 5 -

There are many pieces of information that you can enter in Microsoft Project simply using the Gantt table but in some situations there are simply some pieces of information that can only be entered into the Task Information dialog box or the Resource Information dialog box. To open the Task Information dialog box or the Resource Information dialog box using the shortcut keystroke - [Shift] + [F2]

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 6 -

To link tasks in Microsoft Project you must first select the two tasks you want to link and then you can use the shortcut - [Ctrl] + [F2]. Sometimes you will also want to unlink a task, simply select the tasks you wish to unlink and then press - [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [F2]

Essential MS Project Shortcut Keys Number 7 -

To use MS Office Project to its full potential you really need to assign resources to tasks. To achieve this you can bring up the Assign Resources dialog box by using the MS Project Shortcut Key - [Alt] + [F10]

To finish off this article, I want to list the seven essential MS Project Shortcut Keys you should know together-

1. Accept Data Entered Into A Cell- [Enter]

2. Cancelling Data Entered Into A Cell - [Esc]

3. Insert New Task - [Ins]

4. Activate the Entry Area - [F2]

5. Open the Task Information Dialog Box - [Shift] + [F2]

6. Assign Resources - [Alt] + [F10]

7. Link Tasks - [Ctrl] + [F2] & Unlink Tasks - [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [F2]

Four Important Things While Setting Up Microsoft Exchange Server

Microsoft Exchange server is an extension of the Microsoft Servers, and is used by enterprises mainly for hosting of web-based electronic mails, and for organizing calendar events in the form of memo. Exchange servers are usually set up in offices where one server machine is used for maintaining active directory. It is usually one individual computer responsible for sharing its features with the terminals remotely attached to it via local network.

Four important things while setting up Microsoft Exchange Servers are -

MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS LATEST VERSION

1. Exchange is an application extension, so it requires the server edition of windows pre-installed on the computer. Usually the latest version of server edition is preferred for better compatibility, or for migration purposes. For example, Exchange 2010 can only be installed on Windows Server 2003 and 2008. Moreover, the recent Exchange releases are 64-bit, so the machine as well as the operating system needs to be 64-bit compliant. For best results, a fresh installation of server is usually done to avoid any complexities.

2. For a server to work in a local area network, it needs to have proper network settings. By default, Exchange configures IP addressing to be DHCP enabled. Since it needs to be a subnet controller, the IP needs to be set to static. Therefore it is required to mention a specific address that would be used. This IP needs to be included in the DNS list as well and then the gateway for the network needs to be specified in order to be able to connect to the internet.

3. For any server to work, it needs to have one computer to work as the active directory. Before installing Exchange, the active directory needs to be installed and properly configured. Active directory is essential for working as the domain supervisor, and the Exchange Server is usually kept as the first domain controller. Selecting a domain name is important as it will be associated with all the mail addresses if they are hosted in the server itself, and it cannot be changed easily.

4. The IPv6 settings are particularly important. It can be left in its default settings, with automatic DHCP, but it needs to be kept turned on for setting up Exchange, as some of its services will not start if IPv6 is not enabled. The active directory installation will continue as long as the IPv4 is made static, irrespective of the state of IPv6 as long as it is enabled.

How To Get Rid Of The Fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert From Your PC

The "Fake Microsoft Security Essentials" spyware infection is a common virus known for its annoying alerts & fake viruses. Although this program is installing itself onto 1,000's of computers around the World each day, it can be difficult to get rid of it for good. Fortunately, this tutorial is going to show you exactly how to remove the infection from your computer in the most reliable way possible.

microsoft security essentials download

This virus is actually what's known as a "spyware" (spy software) infection, which means that it will place a series of files and settings onto your computer in order to help it run. After installing itself, the virus will then continually scan your PC and attempt to show you a series of fake results, whilst stealing your personal information from the Internet & any unsecured Internet access you may have. The big problem with this particular infection is the way it has been designed to both look like it's been created by "Microsoft", and the way in which it will actually install any further malware infections that your computer may have.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

The way to remove this virus is to first stop it running, as this will prevent it from being able to call other infections onto your PC; and then delete all its files that it needs to run. Not many people realize this, but this tool is not like a typical virus (which will generally place a single rogue file / setting onto your system). The fake Microsoft Security Essentials virus is basically a fraudulent program that will place a large number of files onto your system which it will use to run, meaning that in order to remove the infection, you can delete all the files & settings it needs to operate.

This infection will install itself into this folder of your PC:
%UserProfile%Application DataPAV

The best way to remove the fake Microsoft Security Essentials alert on your system is to use what's known as a "malware removal tool". These are programs which can scan through your PC and get rid of all the parts of the infection. We've found that a program called XoftSpy is the best to get rid of the Fake Security Essentials virus, as this tool is the most up to date and is able to remove the largest number of files this software uses. You can use this application by downloading it to your system, installing it and then letting it remove all the infected parts of the virus, allowing your PC to run much smoother again as a result.

An Overview of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server

If you're in business, you should really consider learning about and then using Microsoft's Office SharePoint Server. For any organisation that shares data on a daily (or perhaps hourly) basis, you need a server, but one that pulls together all the Office Applications without conflict or bugs. The SharePoint Server was designed exactly with this in mind.

What is it?

MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS LATEST VERSION

The SharePoint Server is a set of tools and facilities that can help an organisation be more effective in how it manages its content, searching, sharing part of the business, and improves the way information is shared. There are mini versions of this kind of practise already - you know if you add or edit notes on a document while you're editing it for a colleague? Or if a document is "locked" as read only so you don't get three people editing three different versions at once before merging? Think of the SharePoint server as a larger, more complex way of making use of these kinds of tools.

It's worth mentioning that after testing, Microsoft has (unsurprisingly) recommended that the SharePoint Server be used with MS Office 2009 applications. This is hardly surprising since it's the latest, most up to date version of the suite, and less likely to throw up errors and bugs. Some businesses still use NT or XP, but this should still mean you can use the SharePoint services.

What can I do with it?

Most businesses are highly collaborative these days: how often do you create a spreadsheet or document that only you will read and edit? Not very often. Usually, as part of a larger team, you'll have different groups of people accessing different Office documents at any one time. SharePoint has certain features to make this easier, such as keeping track of a document's life cycle (how many of us have been happily editing something, then see with horror that you're in the 2006 version because it looks and feels similar to the 2009 one?), RSS feeds, and the use of portals (or intranet sites: something most businesses have these days).

Search features are handy when you're dealing with so many different documents in so many different formats. Searches become more relevant, and the ways you can search are more flexible (wanting to see what the accounts team edited at the end of the last tax year, for example).

The chance of "messing up" a shared document (as per the previous example with three people editing something before a merge, losing 2 out of 3 sets of changes) is reduced if you use a shared server. There can be individual document levels and hierarchies - the work experience girl can't edit the MD's diary, for example! And major/minor work versioning - if you change a sentence, and I change a page, then the server "knows" and acts appropriately.

Security is also a hallmark of a decent server sharing system, SharePoint notwithstanding. Controlling who can (and can't) see certain sensitive business information is crucial, no more so than today where the Freedom of Information Act, coupled with the Data Protection Act can cause a lot of problems if breached. You can restrict access to whole areas of information, not just the documents inside (if you had a fraud investigation team, for example, this would be separate from other parts of the business).

Although servers are often maintained by IT managers and their contemporaries, there's no reason why you can't try mastering it yourself, especially if you already have Office 2007. With a bit of training, and a lot of investigating its capabilities, the SharePoint Server could make your working life a lot easier, and much more streamlined for 2009.

Finally a Windows Virus Protection - Microsoft Security Essentials

One of the big problems with Windows is that there are so many ways for your system to become compromised. Every day there are new malicious software programs designed to hurt your system or steal your personal information from it. For some users who have been stung by these issues, they have left the Microsoft operating system altogether because of the issues. Other decide to buy software to try to combat the problems.

microsoft security essentials download

Microsoft is starting to address these issues in ways besides security patches. In the past there was something called Windows Defender. While this program was basically good, it didn't quite catch all the issues and problems that existed with viruses, spam, etc. It was a good start, but nearly all users still needed additional software to provide the protection needed on a Window system.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

Recently a new attempt has come out called Microsoft Security Essentials. This is a free download that is designed to provide security and protection for your Windows systems from XP to Windows 7. It's designed to combat spyware, viruses, trojans, and other software that can damage or destroy your system and the data on it.

The one advantage of Security Essentials is that it is free and designed to integrate fully with Windows by Microsoft. It's all included with the product now without a need for multiple addons to achieve a basic level of protection.

If you aren't currently running any form of protection, which is true of about half of all users, it's very important to make sure that download Microsoft Security Essentials. You simply can't afford to be without any type of protection. There are so many malicious things that can be done to your system that it is simply a matter of time before your get infected. While an infection is bad for you, it is really bad for everyone. Many users don't realize that when infected your PC can become part of the computing power used by spammers to send junk to people's email boxes.

The one big missing feature from this program is firewall protection. You will still need to have this turned on. In Windows you can do this through the operating system so it's not needed to be in the program. Some are used to their virus software having this feature, but it does not matter to much in this case.

If you are connected to other computers in any way, you can't afford to be without antivirus protection. Microsoft Security Essentials is a good first steps - it's easy, free, and does the basics well.

Comparison of Microsoft Office 2003 with Microsoft Office 2007

Lots of people have Microsoft Office 2003 and are interested in upgrading to Microsoft Office 2007. However, there are lots of differences between the two although they are the same program with different edition years. As a result, anyone with Microsoft Office 2003 should keep on reading to learn about some of the differences of Microsoft Office 2007.

microsoft security essentials download

One of the changes is the digital signature. For instance, if you are in Microsoft Office 2007 training you will learn that with this edition the digital signature is formatted with XMLDSig, which is different than what you learned in Microsoft Office 2003 training. Also, the Microsoft office training courses will teach you that in Office 2007 you will find the digital signature under File, Finalize Document, Signatures rather than in Tools, Options, Security, Digital Signatures. The digital signatures were changed to be more intuitive and easier to find.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

Another change that you will learn about in all of your Microsoft office training programs is that the add in tool for Office 2003 was removed. It was replaced by a document inspector that can run multiple times at once which makes it easer to clean up documents.

In Microsoft Office 2007 there is now some versioning offered. Before in Microsoft Office 2003 you could only enable or disable versioning, but now versioning numbers are included and numbers such as 3.3 may be used as well as whole numbers like 3.

Another change that exists in Microsoft Office 2007 that is different from Microsoft Office 2003 is that Windows Rights Management Client v. 1.0 is no longer supported. A new client version of Windows Rights Management Client SP1 is used in Microsoft Office 2007 and the new version is easy to install and no change is seen when the new version is installed.

Yet another change that occurred is the Send for Review feature that could be found in Microsoft Office 2003 under File, Send to, Mail Recipient (for review). These entry points do not exist in Microsoft Office 2007.

There are of course many other changes that occur in Microsoft Office 2007 that Microsoft Office 2003 users must learn and get accustomed to. However, there are not so many that users who upgrade will have too difficult of a time converting.

History of Microsoft Exchange

Microsoft Exchange has an interesting history. It is part of the server products offered by Microsoft Servers and many companies use it. The most popular features include e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, and support. Data storage is also offered.

microsoft security essentials download

The history of Microsoft Exchange is quite interesting and began in 1993 when the XENIX system was changed to the Exchange Server. Not quite two years later approximately 500 companies were using the Exchange Server Beta 1. A year later the amount of users had grown exponentially to 32,000. In 1996, the public was first able to buy the original Exchange Server 4.0. It was offered as a Microsoft Mail 3.5 upgrade. However, it was very different and offered many services. The Exchange Server offer a mail system with a database store offering X 500 directory serves. The directory that was used became the Active Directory Service, which Windows 2000 integrated as its foundation for Windows Server domains.

MICROSOFT SECURITY

The next edition was released in 1997. This was called Exchange Server 5.0 and it allowed access to networks based on SMTP for the first time ever. This new mail standard allowed for the 5.0 edition to communicate with servers via Internet Mail Connector. A new interface for web based email as included in this version as well and it was called Exchange Web Access that was called Outlook Web Access in a subsequent Service pack. To go along with this version a new 8.01 version of Outlook was released as well as 7.5 of Microsoft Schedule and 5.0 for Microsoft Exchange Client.

Not long after a 5.5 version of Exchange Server was released. It had two editions, Standard and Enterprise. The size of the database, clustering, and more were just a bit different. There were many different features that went along with the 5.5 version including Outlook Web Access in a new version, recovery of deleted items, and support of IMAP4 and LDAP v3 clients. This was the last version to have separate NNTP, SMTP and directory services.

Next came the Exchange Server 2000. It was released towards the end of 2000 and it was better than the previous versions. Four cluster servers were offered instead of two and the databases were larger. Instant messaging was also supported by the Exchange Server 2000, but that was later changed. The Exchange Server 2003 improved some of the limitations of the 2000 version and quite a few Exchange Server 5.5 users waited for the 2003 version to upgrade. Windows 2000 was also required. Others used Windows NT 4.0 and Exchange Server 5.5, but Microsoft no longer supports these. As a result anyone interested in learning should go through Microsoft Exchange Training. The newest edition is Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2007 training is necessary. Exchange 2007 training classes will help any professional become adept at this new edition.

Droid Incredible and Microsoft Exchange

While the Android operating system on my Droid Incredible has an option to connect to MS Exchange services, it is not the best and safest way to do so. Limited functionality and missing security are some of the issues about this. But there is help in form of the "TouchDown" app made by NitroDesk. The TouchDown app lets you access your Corporate Email, Contacts, Calendar and Tasks right on your Android smart phone. The list of features is long and I am only going to highlight the most important ones.

microsoft security essentials

- SSL Support. After all, security is important.
- Remote Data Wipe. Again, security is important.
- Secure Pin (enforceable). Did I mention security yet?
- Manual and Scheduled Sync options.
- Push Email
- Custom Notification Rules
- Out of Office

MICROSOFT SECURITY

The list of features is quite longer and I am sure you find more items that are really helpful. Overall, this app comes close to the functionality offered by a Blackberry - which is completely geared towards email usage. The main differences I found are as follows:

1) The Blackberry Operating System also syncs Outlook notes with the device, while the Touchdown app does not (however a 3rd party app does that on the Android OS if needed).

2) A Blackberry device can be fully encrypted, while this cannot be done on a Droid Smart Phone yet.

3) I used filtering on the BlackBerry and it is easier to forward messages with high priority flag on the Blackberry and to set proper alerts. This is helpful to be notified on really important emails as an example. The TouchDown app comes close, but lacks a little bit on the filtering and the notification features. It does work, it is just not as easy and comfortable to do like it is on a Blackberry.

4) The Blackberry offers better battery life than a smart phone (at least this point)

Overall this application really makes it easy to dump the Blackberry and to move to a real smart phone. By moving to an Android based smart phone like the Droid Incredible you gain access to thousands of applications and better multimedia usability. RIM (Research in Motion) has recognized the need to improve their Blackberry operating system to be more competitive, but application makers are catching on quickly and raise the bar on the smart phone side of things higher and higher. RIM is promising a change with the upcoming version 6 of the BlackBerry operating system.

Microsoft Great Plains Subcontracting - Overview for Microsoft Business Solutions Partner

Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains is very popular ERP/MRP applications in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, South Africa, Latin America. Considering high number of new Microsoft Great Plains partners and the desire to subcontract occasional customization, integration and reporting projects, we would like to advise you on Microsoft Great Plains subcontracting guidelines, based on our experience in dealing with Great Plains VARs
Candidates for subcontracting:

microsoft security essentials

o Great Plains Dexterity customizations - Dexterity was and still is the IDE and programming language of Great Plains, especially workstation thick interface. However since Microsoft bought Great Plains Software and formed Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions, later renamed into Microsoft Business Solutions - Dexterity became the candidate to be replaced by C# or VB.Net. The plans are the plans, but the realities of Microsoft Great Plains customization signals that Dexterity will stay another 5-7 years as IDE. However I agree with the strategy that if you are new GP reseller you don't want to hire Dexterity programmer

MICROSOFT SECURITY

o SQL Integration. We see more and more requests for Great Plains integrations with web eCommerce applications, industry specific databases: Freight Forwarding, Distribution, Logistics, Beverages, Jewelry, Furniture, Consignment. Healthcare, etc. The dilemma for the programmer is - should I know all the details of Great Plains table structure model and document workflow - or probably purchase the set of SQL stored procs to help me.

o Integration Manager with VBA/Continuum. These are traditional custom pieces. Integration Manager doesn't allow you to switch companies during the integration, and so have the work done over night without operator's involvement

o eConnect - this relatively new SDK from MBS, created primarily for eCommerce developer, has certain restrictions, especially with transferring Sales Order to Invoices and transactions posting. These are the restrictions of Great Plains architecture and to resolve the issue you need set of custom stored procedures

VAR should have some GP customization experience/skills:

o Great Plains Security model. Great Plains allows you to grant access to so-called alternate and modified alternate Microsoft Great Plains forms and reports - this is where you enable our customization to take over standard logic. Please, invest reasonable resources into GP basics, before you get in touch with nation-wide subcontractor

o Central REPORTS.DIC - this is critical to serve mid-size and large clients. Usually you create your custom Sales Order Processing (SOP) invoice form from one of the GP workstations and then place your reports on the server. If you use IT subcontractors - these folks should be trained on installing new Great Plains workstations (or you should insist on working via terminal server/Citrix)

o Remote Support. The best scenario is VPN with remote desktop access (Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro). VPN will allow SQL Enterprise manager connect over the secured VPN connection. Less desired scenario would be Websession or PCAnywhere.

Good luck with implementation, customization and integration and if you have issues or concerns - we are here to help! If you want us to do the job - give us a call 866-528-0577 or 630-961-5918! help@albaspectrum.com
